WheyHey Ice Cream Launches Across the UK on Friday

WheyHey, a new ice cream targeted at the fitness and health market, is set to launch across the UK on Friday.

Arriving across branches of Holland & Barrett this week, WheyHey is a unique protein ice cream that we were fairly impressed with when we tried it at BodyPower UK 2012.

So what is so special about it?

Made from whey isolate, which our resident fictional expert Dr. Whatsupp has already covered in detail, each 150 gram tub of WheyHey ice cream gives you 22 grams of protein.

Thankfully this doesn’t come at a price elsewhere. With only 4.5 grams of fat per 100 grams, and only 1 gram of that being saturated fats, the ice cream is best described as ‘skinny’. It also only contains 1 gram of lactose per 100 grams, and comes in strawberry, vanilla and chocolate flavours. We’re happy to report they all taste great, especially the chocolate!

While WheyHey ice cream is already available in a number of gyms and specialist nutrition stores across the UK, the company are set to hit the big time on Friday 25th May 2012 when Holland & Barrett start stocking it across the country. Holland & Barrett have more than 620 shops in the UK and Ireland, and the top 200 of those will be stocking WheyHey ice cream.

You can find out more about this unique product at the WheyHey website.

WheyHey sounds great! Any plans for making it available in America?

I know they have some expansion ideas, but not sure about North America. I’ll ask them for you though…

Talked to WheyHey and they are planning on bringing it to the US, but no timescales yet. Watch this space!
