BodyPower Expo 2014 is less than five weeks away, and the organisers believe it could be the biggest ever in the fitness show’s history. But is that possible after last year?
In 2013, BodyPower Expo saw 55,000 people swarm to the event, which covers every aspect of fitness, nutrition, sport and health. Held at Birmingham’s NEC in the UK between 16th and 18th May, it is attended by visitors from over a hundred countries. In addition to a packed show floor full of exhibitors the event promises power sports, competitions, visual displays and, with the recent addition of ‘BodyPower Fit’, a new and interesting assortment of educational seminars.
55,000 people is a big target to beat, but the organisers seem bullish about their chances, and base their aspirations on feedback and marketing research.
“To continually grow and showcase the best exhibition of its kind in the world, BodyPower requires constant innovation and new ways to improve. Year on year we try to add something different to make each event bigger and better than the last. We invest in market research to ensure we understand what our visitor wants, developing new angles while retaining our core market. This feedback ensures we are in a position to deliver every time. BodyPower is expanding to India and South Africa in 2014 and the motivation for us is that as our reach extends so does our capacity to inspire people to get fitter and lead healthier lives. We are trying to positively shape the future of the global fitness industry.” – Nick Orton, CEO of BodyPower
This year’s event is packing in an incredible range of events and areas that are sure to please everyone. From the Super Theatre with seating for 1,500 people to the Beach Body Stage, competitions that will include Olympic and Paralympic stars, new product launches and the usual array of giveaways, samples, competitions and prizes, this year’s event certainly seems to be heading in all the right directions.
And in a major coup for BodyPower Expo, the official IFBB sanctioned BodyPower Pro will be the only pro show taking place in the UK in 2014. Visitors can expect to see top names from the world of bodybuilding battling it out in a 212 class, women’s Figure and for the first time ever in the UK, BodyPower Pro will welcome a Pro Wheelchair class.
