If you exercise before every meal, the benefits for your muscles – and therefore the chance to burn more fat – are increased.
By doing a light amount of exercise before you eat, the nutrients you take on when eating is more likely to be driven towards muscle cells to replace the energy you burned.
Here’s a simple exercise routine you can fit in easily before each meal:
- 20 slow bodyweight squats
- 10 pushups (do the most difficult pushup you can manage; refer to our Difficulty Ladder for options)
Do 2-3 sets of both exercises and then head to the table.
Of course, this assumes you’re eating a balanced, healthy meal. Don’t be tricked into thinking that any amount of exercise is going to fix a poor diet!
Exercise before meals might seem like a funny thing to do, but the benefit to your muscles and the consequential fat burn will be worth it.
